Google summer of code 2016

Postby jpflori » Mon Feb 08, 2016 10:01 am

Dear Victor,

Did you think of taking part in GSoC, maybe under the umbrella of a larger organization?
FLINT did it for a few years and had some very good (and some very less good) contribution.
The mentoring part is not that time consuming, and you could surely find one or two people to assist you doing so.
The harder part is finding talented and motivated students.

Best,
JPF

Thanks for the idea.
Sounds intriguing.
I dont' know much about this...what support does Google actually provide?

Basically Google does only one thing: pay the "student" (about $5000 for a successful project).
Making sure the project is successful is the mentors' job.
